[today in your mess hall a young Irish wizard is reading a very serious discussion on his computer (that looks like a macbook pro right up until you notice the apple does not have a bite taken out of it...]

You know, I never thought about this.

In the habit of teleporting vampires, Captain?

Not yet. But you never know. Might be a good way of getting rid of them.

You might want to check your lore first, to find out whether they're like Larry Niven's demons or Twilight or whatever else.

If you find yourself on a dyson sphere with a Pierson's Puppeteer named Nessus, you're creating black holes.

I'm not sure it's a topic that comes up that often.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't and maybe it should. These answers are the best.

I'm not sure I know enough about vampires or space travel to really weigh in.

That's all right; there are apparently a few hundred who are more than willing to.

Hi, I'm Ronan and you're new, right?

What's the world mythos?

The comments consider about six thus far.

Nah. Only the Van Helsing one... the others are options for finding out what happens within any given mythos. If it's a world where vampires are repelled from entering, the beam would bounce them back. If it's one where they can enter but suffer physical consequences, then they'd be trapped and weakened and maybe die there.

Or turn into diamond, or create a black home ... though I like the commenter who asks about whether a transporter can even pick up one given the whole ... mirror thing.

Though I guess if it's a Scott Westerfeld vampire it could easily enough.

Okay. No. Dude, step away from the comment section. This is officially too nerdy for anyone.

Please tell me you're not seriously considering this.

Of course I am. The question is what parts of the ritual are formal and what aren't.
