Some people do appreciate the truth when they are dying . . . I'm not sure how they feel about it after the fact though.

It's such a given where I'm from that I don't know how to deal with it any other way.

There's not much time for them to adjust a little more to being dead and living in cities of the dead?

Some of them have years. Most people are in a hurry to get to the good stuff, though. Not many people are sticklers for tradition, these days, so we've cut down a lot on the ceremony.

You can tell which are dead and which are still alive when you see them, right?

Yes, but not everyone knows or wants to say.

. . . That's true. I've seen the Door behind some people before. Just a flash of it every now and then--but that probably means they're dead.

It's less weird to me than seeing the living. They've always sort of creeped me out.

The same way you probably feel about the living--it varies from person to person. The zombies don't have souls, and the ones that do are out of my department.

I was wondering if Camp was like your cities of the dead . . . only with both the dead and the living in the same place.

Nah, the lands of the Living and the Dead are totally segregated. Both sides like it that way, and it's been like that since the first recorded death.

Not at all. It's like purgatory, but more judgmental.
