[If you're outside tonight, enjoying the... Camp atmosphere... you may notice a bit of a distraction going on near one of the abandoned barns. The distraction turns out to be a line of zombies carrying multiple suitcases, bird cages, boxes of old magazines and a chaise lounge inside said barn while a young woman in a white suit supervises ( Read more... )

I think she's a vampire, too!

Mmm, yes, I had gotten that impression.

Okay, is it ever really, really weird to you that there are so many here?

Not at all! There are so many more vampires at home with whom I am acquainted. In fact, in comparison, the vampires here are very few.

I guess there used to be a lot in Mystic Falls, but they kinda got ... cleared out.

I probably don't know the whole story, but during the Civil War, there were a bunch of vampires including the really mean Katherine who came to Mystic Falls. They were trying to live their lives, but they were hurting people. You know, this was before they had blood banks and things so we could steal blood!

... Um, anyway, so the townspeople got clued in, and they decided to go against the vampires. Some got lucked up in a church, meant to burn, and others got away. But the church actually didn't burn them and they were stuck in there for a long time. And then, uh, that happened again! Only ... that time most of them did die.

Those townspeople were the founding families. And one of them was the Forbes. You know, like me. It's kind of a long history, but I only know about it because I ... kinda had to, hanging around Stefan and Damon and stuff after I got turned. It was important to stay alive.

Pluuuus, my mom's pretty anti-vampires like all the founding families, so I kinda had to know the story there, too.

Or ... was. She was. Things kinda ... and then ... you know, camp!

How terribly sad. It must be difficult for you, dealing with your mother's position on vampires, all things considered.

... Yeah, but I think she finally sees me as her daughter still.

Well, that's wonderful! I'm so glad to hear that. Parental love should always conquer all.

... I don't think it's that simple.

Perhaps not. Still, it sounds like your mother is making an effort to get over her prejudices and that's to be applauded.

A part of me can't really blame her. You know, the part that kinda wants to eat everyone I see!
