In fact, they appear to be racing laps around some of the dilapidated old barns while an undead bookie stands by, collecting bets of various currencies. In the audience is at least one sketchy, middle-aged man

I've dropped my share of credits into games of quasar and the like. But I consider any money I use for gambling as money lost. I never expect to win more than enough to pay for a drink at the bar, maybe.
