A few quick questions, if no one minds my asking - which you really shouldn't given that this does, in theory, affect everyone - did anyone happen to encounter something earlier in the week, and if so, has anyone actually figured out a way of handling it? And by "handling it," I mean "destroying it in the quickest and most efficient manner possible

- hey. There's been a number of different effects, ranging from more common camp afflictions to some that happen much less frequently. They do wear off, though, although the time range varies. Mine wore off after about five days or so.

That is one less concern. ... Your help during that period was- much appreciated.

- look, whatever, enough about that. In any case, it seems like a lot of people ran into that thing, but no one could actually find it after the fact, so it's not just you.

Yeah... I haven't heard of anyone who knows where they went off to. It doesn't matter how much I've tried, they're really hiding their trail.

The weird part is that they left immediately after they attacked and inflicted the effects on people. Why would they leave when their targets were weakened?

.. Who knows. Maybe this was just some sort of warning? They may be hiding themselves, but the fact that I can pick up on that much has to mean they're still out there somewhere.

There's the possibility that they may have already gotten what they wanted.

Other than creating a huge inconvenience for everyone at best, I can't imagine what they could have gotten out of this.

It's entirely possible that that was its purpose.

To just bother us for a little while?

It's always possible in this place, but given that even the speaker was making announcements about it, I doubt it's that simple.
