[Kurt and Tohru are watching adult movies on Kurt's laptop. As you do.]

I can't watch this part. Tell me when they're done.

. . . Done with . . . removing their pants?

Exactly. Oh, look at him, please. He doesn't look that much older than us. I wonder if he still lives with his parents. And what does he tell them when he . . . you know, goes to ( Read more... )

[reluctantly] I guess you have an excuse for your ignorance about these movies. I could answer a few questions.

But it depends on what they are.

Alright Well
As I Understand It For Humans Only Male And Female Couplings Can Produce Offspring
So Does That Make The Activities Demonstrated In This To Be Simply Recreational In Nature
And If So Does That Also Make Watching The Movie Itself A Recreational Activity Rather Than Something With A More Instructional Intent

No, it's not- babies are not a factor. These "activities," to borrow your expression, are romantic. In nature. Not in these movies, but in real life, ideally, you have sex to show someone how much you care about them.

Theres A Definite Cultural Divide Involved It Seems
As Certain Nonsexual Relationships Are Considered To Be Just As Romantic In Nature As Sexual Ones By My People
But Also All Sexual Romantic Couples Of Any Arrangement Of Sexes Were Not Only Capable But Expected To Contribute To The Creation Of The Next Generation

I need a visual aid.

[pulls out a notebook and a pen]

So, nonsexual and sexual are both romantic . . .

But the sexual ones, whether the members are male or female or both, are expected to have children . . .

That's rather ill-advised. I can think of plenty of people who should've never had children, not to mention people our age who don't look like they'll make good parents in the future, either.

They Didnt Raise The Young Themselves Actually
Or Even Know Which Were Their Genetic Offspring
Any Encounter With An Adult At All Would Likely Result In The Little Wigglers Death
Those Who Survived Long Enough Were Taken In By Custodians Instead

I suppose that would be an adequate arrangement as long as they performed a background check on the custodians to ensure that they'd be good parents. So then, are adults permanently pregnant where you come from? Not that that explains the lack of interest in fashion, there are pretty cute maternity clothes.

Actually Most Custodians Were Wild Creatures With Violent Urges And Limited Intelligence
And Trolls Dont Get Pregnant
They Simply Supply The Genetic Material To Be Delivered Elsewhere For The Next Step In The Process Of Procreation
Traditionally If They Didnt They Were Killed

So, if you don't get pregnant nor raise children, what makes sex in your culture non . . . er, recreational? You can always save the genetic material for whenever the baby fairy comes knocking.
