[pulls away; to take a wrapped box out of his bottom desk drawer]

[And he hands his over a small wrapped box as well.]

Eiri's box has a simple braided rope necklace, but on it is a carved wooden charm that looks suspiciously like a tiny pencil. Possibly. It's difficult to tell, Satoshi isn't the best at carving. But the rope is braided nicely, and it has yellow and blue strands.]

[it's a book! a journal, specifically, that's been turned into a dictionary. lots and lots and lots of kanji, grouped by how similar they look... with pictures next to them. for verbs, his stick figures are fantastic. really.]
