[In a trampled clearing of what was once part of the cornfield there is a marquis and a dragon. They are surrounded by a collection of ropes, carabiner hooks and an improvised harness made of twisted silk--as well as several hastily scrawled drawings in the dirt around them. Dragons are extinct where I'm from, so I had never met any before coming here. They are largely extremely intelligent and very good conversationalists.

Ours are intelligent enough for beasts, but I have never heard of one that speaks. It was quite the surprise.
