But it's part of the uniform, isn't it? Though I do think a hat would cover up too much...

They're wearing different hats, so I wouldn't say it was uniformly applied.

That's true, I just thought that they got to choose between one of the three hats. Except why would anyone choose that big one?

They're not capable of choice.

I always just thought it was more of a really kind of basic decision process thingie when it came to choices. Like "that one looks like a brain so I'm picking it," y'know?

Because they don't have a working mind of their own. It's instinct. Human nature, or a lack of it.

And it's not like their companions seem to have any say over it either.

Oh. You're not actually getting one of those uniforms, are you?

I wouldn't refuse if it was offered. Red's my color, after all.

Well, yeah, but you'd look way hotter in something less... well, baggy? Kind of like what you've got on now.

It means there's room to make adjustments. And the only hot I'm concerned about is how well it conserves heat in winter.
