What do you think normal means?

[responses being taken online or in person; Nagi is sitting at a table with her laptop, snacking on french fries and nursing a Diet Coke]

((ooc: Muse is exhausted but will pick up threads tomorrow. Mingling is awesome.))

Hmm. Bein' the same as most o' the people or things around. Depends a lot on yer frame of reference, I'd say.

You mean you see it as relative?

O'course, it has ta be. It's a relative term.

Not everyone would automatically think of 'frames of reference' right off the bat. They only think about what's normal for them.

Heh, maybe. But even what's normal for one person can be different dependin', right?

Of course. Doesn't mean everyone thinks to that degree, though. One guy I asked answered, "hamburgers and capitalism."

...Uh-huh. Well, some people should learn ta use their brains a little more before answerin' a question like that.

I didn't know too much about him before he died. What you said's part of the basic gist I've heard, though.

Sorry ta hear that. He write anythin' insightful about bein' normal?

Eh, it's been about eight, nine years now.

[dismissive handwave to show it doesn't bother her]

I don't really read his work, but he did once tell me that being normal means to abandon change.
