[Today, there are some brightly-colored canopies set up outside. There's some food on tables, a fairly impressive sound system set up, music playing, and a dance floor. There seem to be some people gathered already; one teenage boy in particular is looking over the sound system and looking pleased with himself. Until--]

Hello, Soul. Did you set all of this up? I seem to have received an invitation, although I strongly suspect it was more camp intervention than anything.

Kind of. I started to set it up, but it all came together a bit easier than I expected. So yeah, camp's, uh, helping. Although there are definitely people whose company I enjoy a lot less than yours around.

If it weren't for other camp events, I would almost say that camp helping with things like this means that the Director's getting soft. Is there a reason for the party or were you bored?

Being bored's a reason. I wanted to get everyone together and actually have some fun.

Rejected! The point of this it to make everyone have some fun, especially the ones who would just sit alone and bored.

Perhaps what she finds it useful for is exciting. Not that I would know what she thinks, I've just met her.

My point was that just because you think boring things are fun doesn't mean your life wouldn't be improved by a party.

I see your point and it's not a bad one. Still, I'm far more happy to people-watch than do whatever you kids think is fun these days.
