[In the mess hall this evening, there is a lovely banner strung up over a table:

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Underneath it is a giant cake and a slightly annoyed persocom, who strangely enough appears to be eating a piece of said cake]

((Zima is temporarily human! Come bother him, or just steal his cake o/))

. . . has it been a year already?

A bit longer, actually, I think.

. . . you're right, now that I think about it. June 16th, 2008. That was the day-

. . .

Sorry, never mind. I just realized something ironic, but it's not important.

So, enjoying being human?

Oh?

It's...different. I'm not sure there's a better way to describe it right now.

Just an . . . anniversary of sorts that I didn't even realize I was marking when it happened. [one hand covers half of his face as he thinks about it] Camp may have arranged it deliberately.

I understand. I became human for a little over two weeks in December. It was . . . different.

Bad memories?

I must have missed that. Hopefully this doesn't last as long, though it's an interesting novelty for the moment.

. . . yes and no.

I spent a lot of time inside. My human body was more vulnerable to the cold than I'm accustomed to. Is the cake good?

Should I stop asking?

I think I may have a problem with the heat, myself. And I don't have anything to judge against, but it seems all right.

Please. It's . . . too recent.

. . . Realians obtain their energy to function by eating, like humans, but specific dietary requirements vary by composition. I require largely human food, but heavy on the foods which contain heavy metals, and I also require some silicate minerals so that my body has the raw materials to repair itself. I don't eat many sweets, since they're unnecessary.

Got it.

So that mean you don't want any?

[nods his thanks]

. . . in essence.

You should have some anyway, you look like you could use it.

Negative. Any nutrients in the cake, I could acquire more efficiently from other sources, without wasted calories in sugars and fats.

Generally, I believe, sweet food is considered to be good for one's mood.

. . .

Thanks, but I doubt it would cause an improvement.

[I see your clever commentary on my dour disposition there :| ]
