[Today in your camp, a girl you probably haven't seen before is talking to a zombie. She's acting scared of it, but if you have a good nose for these things, you may notice that she's milking it for all it's worth.]

Ah, I'm sorry, I got lost and just ended up here! Please don't eat my brains!

Antagonizing them is not advised.

I can take care of myself if he gets feisty!

An action that would not be necessary if you removed yourself from the situation.

Contacting is always one of the first things to try when you meet a new demon. Sometimes you can get a lot out of it!

These creatures are not demons; they are... Contacting?

We use "demon" as kind of a catch-all term where I'm from; zombies are included in it. Most of them had spell cards, if we could talk them out of them, so we'd end up talking to as many demons as fighting them.

Spell cards... ? Such things do not exist in this place. How do you proceed to talk them out of your... demons?

Lots of ways, really! We all tried different things, because not all demons like to be talked to the same way. Nanjou-kun used to yell at them or try to bribe them. Naoya-kun was always more persuasive, or sometimes he'd even sing.

I've had a lot of luck pretending to be afraid of them. Lots of them like to think they're much scarier than they really are.

[... I have no words.]

... This lot has never shown genuine interest in scaring the residents. Your technique may prove less effective.

[it's okay, my canon gets that reaction aaaall the time!]

Maybe I should go back to flattering them...

[Sigh.]

I do not think you will find much of a result. As I said, I have encountered these creatures on several occasions and have never found them in possession of any cards.

Well, it was worth a try!

Ah, now you should step back before any others arrive. The zombies have become something of a communal society over the years, and they have learned to take advantage of those who are not aware of this trait.

I'll keep that in mind, I guess!
