ITP: jumping!

[Near the edge of the center of camp there is a tree stump. It's probably always been there! Today, however, it is a very ~dramatic~ tree stump. So dramatic, in fact, that should you be passing by you may be seized with the urge to jump up on it and announce yourself dramatically

--And what's most fun for me is breaking things! Mechanical things, but other things too, and since I got this, it will be even more interesting to smash things!

Won't that be dangerous?

Dangerous? Dangerous for who, or what? [shoulders flaming wrench, which does not burn him] It's not dangerous for me, and of course it would be dangerous for whoever or whatever I'm smashing.

As many as I can! Because that's what I enjoy best. Or well, breaking physical things in general is what I enjoy best. Disassembling mechanical things is the best out of that, but smashing is always fun too!

Wouldn't it be hard to examine things after they're smashed?

Examine? When did I say I wanted to examine things? If I wanted to examine things, I would do that before I smashed them. But mostly I just want to break them!

Then that's just wasteful. There's no need to damage something just because you want to.

Need? Need is an interesting word. There's no need to do anything, really, it's just a matter of balancing actions with their consequences!

Maybe, but I can't think of anything good that comes out of hitting something just "because."

What? That should be pretty easy to think of, shouldn't it? Because I told you I like doing it, that I enjoy it, so the good thing that comes out of it is that it's fun for me! That's a pretty straightforward good thing, right?

That's just one thing, and that thing is selfish. It's not worth it in my eyes.

Well, people have different opinions and preferences - you don't have to break things, then. Your eyes don't matter, if I'm the one deciding to do it. Unless you're another one who thinks they'll try to stop me from breaking anything!

Only if it's worth the effort.

Ha! What would make it worth the effort for you to stop me? Would you enjoy my frustration if you blocked my efforts?
