He's on a rock that overlooks the lake enough that his fishing pole can easily go into the depths without him having to wade in, leaning against a tree and smoking a cigarillo. There is a hawk in the tree above him

Well, you've got me there. But maybe fish like a finely aged body! Like wine, or cheese! Ever thought of that?

Ah, but old meat, it's tough, and chewy and stringy. Hard to swallow, you see? While young meat, that's nice and firm, and easy to get down. And fish, they ain't got the teeth to chew. No cheeks, neither! So they food, it just falls right out if they try to chew it. So young meat is definitely what the fishes want.

Now me, I could use me some wine, right about now.

I have seen my fair share of fish with very sharp teeth, my good man! But you're right about the wine, I could use some of that myself.
