(Near the shore of the lake, there is a NEW CAMPER!!1! dressed in only a leotard, looking very pissed off. That might be because of the tentacle that she is currently trying to wrestle away from her leg.)

Wait. You can make things spontaneously combust and you forgot to mention it?

Yes, I can do magic.

[slash!]

It's partially a "gift" of Magitek engineering.

Did you say engineering?

kefkafuckudie November 6 2008, 06:27:52 UTC
Yes. Cid's experiments with magitek infusion produced me...and Kefka.

[Fira again on the tentacle]

All of the engineered things from my world-or hey, what I know about them, that is-don't come out with that kind of stuff. Whoever put you together, he must've had a magic touch. But that's pretty much the point, huh?

[watching the magic use intently]

He was like a grandfather to me, really.

[casts Confuse on the tentacle, which wraps around itself in questionable ways]

...We'd better retreat for now.

So he's a good guy, then? Not just messing with your life or anything?

[retreating, by the way]

At heart, he was a good man. But I admit that he had a blind eye where the products of his research were concerned.

Heh, at least you can say that much, right? What kind of blind eye, though?

[... hesitates]

If you don't mind me asking. I knew a few people in your situation back home. They didn't seem so fond of their maker, if you get what I mean.

He didn't care to see what the war--which was being fought with magitek--was doing to people. And the infusion process came at the cost of the lives of other beings called espers.

I don't mind. I suspect these people you know didn't enjoy the privelege of becoming a high-ranking general as a result of this "engineering?"

[may be fidgeting a little with her hands, but isn't doing anything else]

Sounds a bit like what they told me about the Nomalies-things that weren't supposed to come around, but they did. Only I wouldn't say they were infused like you said. These kids were engineered from birth.

And when you're born that way, it kind of goes both ways? Some of them-they liked a lifestyle like that. And some of them? Not so much. At least you seem like you ended up freethinking whichever way you went.
