[Somewhere, in some high-traffic, visible area of camp, there stands a man. He is not a happy man, for he is attached to a rather impressive looking set of leg irons. Said leg irons are attached via heavy chain to a concrete pylon, all underneath a cheerful banner that proclaims, "Expand Your Horizons: Teach ( Read more... )

[assuming I have to look down to see you, tiny adorable one. I might be loooo~ooming, because that is my default]

heh, yeah! It's a little much, if you ask me, don't you think? I mean! Do they think I'm going to run? [tugs at chain] Ladd Russo never runs from a fight -- ah, well, I guess there've been a few times, when someone really incredible came along -- but--

[remembers that you are there] --haaah, nn, okay. So--you want to be assertive, was it?

[I am used to tall looming people, and even if he is not in the thread, you can assume that my one-eyed clown-type manservant is likely lurking around :)]

It does seem a bit excessive, I must admit! Hardly a polite welcome for a new guest to this camp. However are you managing?

As for assertiveness, I do wonder.

[on the lookout for one-eyed clown manservant, check]

Right? I mean, right? I mean, I almost got a better welcome in prison, you know! And like this-- [sad tug at chain] I can't even properly introduce myself to anyone!

Nn, well, I don't think they'll let me go until I teach somebody, so, come on, sis, give your all, get up here, yell, I mean really yell! Make somebody take you seriously!

Dear me, that's a terrible shame. We could rectify that between ourselves, though -- I, myself, am Sharon Lainsworth of the House of Lainsworth, and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintence. [curtseys]

... and, my. Well. So far, everyone has allowed me to think they take me quite seriously, so perhaps you've already succeeded, as far as we go.

oto~ how very mannerly, sis! The only people with manners like that are is the old money-- you must be doing pretty alright in times like this, huh? I'm Ladd Russo, the Russo Mafia Family's number one assassin.

...hah? Mmn, well, yeah, but if that were the case, I think I wouldn't still be here. Nn, isn't the point of all this to make me teach you? I mean, if you already know then why am I chained up out here?

My family has done terribly well for itself, I must admit! My grandmother is the honored Duchess, and thankfully still in quite good health.

Well! Perhaps it's meant to involve people more than just myself. Camp is quite large, after all.

hn, so, you run the factories? I don't think I've heard of any old-money trying to muscle in on our turf or anything, so you can't have a bar or anything like that.

hnnn yeah, yeah! I've met a lot of badasses here! It's really great, sis. But it looks like I'm going to have to meet a lot of them, if I want out of this.
[sad psycho is sad]

Factories, mmmm ... perhaps we did, in my great-grandfather's day, though it's been quite a long time. My education thus far has been mostly related to hostessing tea-parties and the like.

My, that is truly such a shame! But think of it this way, the longer you're here, the more chance you will get to meet properly assertive people, and you'll be able to break free of your chains. ♥

ah, well, that's right, isn't it? I don't think they let women do important business things, on account of you being small, right? Although I've met some pretty incredible women around here, I tell you.

haHA, that's true, that's true, sis! The more people I meet, the more people I'll have to kill! I could be happy here a long time!

I'm still very young, sir! I've not yet even had my coming-of-age ceremony, so in the eyes of society, I am still very much a child.

--Kill, you say? Oh, my. That's a bit frowned on here, I have to say.

hnnnn, yeah, yesterday a talking lizard told me that people don't stay dead, and I've already met two guys that just put themselves back together.

...[sigh]

--ah! Well, that doesn't mean I can't still kill them, I guess! He still says it hurts, and I bet if you surprise them they still make the face! Besides, nobody thinks they wont die more than somebody who can't stay dead! I'll kill them! I'll kill them and kill them until they die!

A talking lizard? How very unusual! ... But no, death is not anything permanent in this place. Small blessings, I suppose.

... My. This is something you feel quite passionately on, isn't it? Such an unexpected obsession, good sir!

Today I met a cat that did the same thing! --ah, well, no, the cat didn't try and kiss me and that's good, but it talked! It was definitely a weirdo, I'm telling you, sis.

Heh! It's what I love best!

A talking cat? Oh, I believe I've heard of such a creature; isn't that terribly peculiar? This is truly such a remarkable place.

Dear me. That could become a problem, later down the road ...

remarkable?

heh, you know, sis, for you to say something like that, you're pretty weird yourself.

Heh, well, it wouldn't be half as fun if people didn't have a problem with it, you know?
