[So, in the graveyard this evening, we have a tall, very skinny Uncle Sam figure, resplendent in red, white and blue top hat and evening wear. Uncle Sam is looking a bit worse for wear -- seems he's been in an explosion or two as the suit is looking rather scorched and he smells rather overwhelmingly of fireworks. Regardless, he is humming happily

Oh, hello again--ahhh . . . w-what are you doing?

Celebrating, of course! It's the 4th of July.

[moerines]

Um, I see . . . what kind of a holiday is it? A-are you sure this is all right with the families of the people who are buried here?

[skullkingabout]

It's a holiday for explosions and fireworks and blue, white and red! Also hot dogs!

Why wouldn't it be?

[moerines]

Oh, I like hot dogs and fireworks. I didn't know there was a holiday for them! It sounds a little bit like a festival . . .

Well, um, aren't the fireworks going to disturb the graves?

[skullkingabout]

I'm sure it is!

Well, you wouldn't like anyone to miss out, would you?

[moerines]

. . . No, but . . . are you sure they need to be buried? I think the spirits of our loved ones would probably think fireworks are just as beautiful in the sky.

[skullkingabout]

You do? Hmm ...

Well, let's ask them!

[moerines]

Ask them? Can you do that?

[skullkingabout]

[Already knocking on the closest tombstone.]

[moerines]

[watching!] Oh, wow . . .

[skullkingabout]

[Halloween-town style ghost appears -- all disembodied and caricature like. There is conversation, nodding, and Jack places a rocket on the ground.]

Our friend would like a demonstration! Step back, Shirley!

[moerines]

[steps back!] Oh my gosh!

[skullkingabout]

[Rocket is lit, and does its firework thing, whistling into the sky -- with curious ghost along for the ride. Ghost whirls and spins around, enjoying the resulting shower of green sparks -- and after a moment of delighted staring, Jack is putting together his bony hands in applause.]

Why that was marvellous! Very festive! Shirley, I think you're right!

O-oh, I'm . . . I'm so glad he enjoyed it . . !

[applauds wow what just happened]
