*Those in the general vicinity of the lake are likely to hear something...rather odd today. Something that can only be described as a series of bloop, bloop, bloops.*

*Upon closer inspection, one is also likely to see THIS.* )

*This is where having long bony legs is a definite advantage.*

Ah, hello, Professor!

Oh! Salutations, Mister Skellington! I'm terribly sorry about the...erm, displacement of these exceptionally odd cephalopods.

Oh, they're your cephalopods?

No-well, er. I suppose one could venture to say that if the possession of these creatures was determined by the similarities between hair styles! I'm terribly perplexed in regards to their origin, however.

You just happened upon them? Maybe they're here for the lesson too.

Correct! I suppose it's possible that they originated from the small, enclosed body of water here, considering their current location and physical similarities to the order Teuthida.

*Nudges one, which bloops at him* I suppose that's possible, if their intelligence level is one which can comprehend such things! I'm not certain of their mental capabilities, however.

Many things come from Lakes! Though usually not in such large quantities.

I wonder what other reason they could have for venturing onto land?

This is quite true! It seems to be the most likely theory as of yet, anyway.

I was pondering some sort of mating session, but I believe it's rather uncommon for such things to occur during winter months. Well, that and none of them seem to be attempting to attract one another.

Well, I'm not sure they could walk from anywhere else.

Perhaps it's a convention.

Their locomotion does seem rather limited. I suppose that's a positive aspect! The chances of them infiltrating the cabins are quite minimal!

A convention is also probable, yes! Whatever reason they have for migrating to this location en masse, they at least don't seem to be of any harm other than the obstruction of one's path!

They couldn't reach the doorhandles either.

Well, if they're monsters, they're not very good monsters then.

Indeed! Such is the plight of such a tiny stature!

Perhaps. Unless the strategies of these particular monsters focused on making use of a deceptively harmless appearance! In that case, they'd be doing quite an effective job!

Indeed.

I suppose only time shall tell.

Yes, I suppose it shall. Though, I'd certainly hope that's not the case - it would be exceptionally unfortunate to be suddenly apprehended by a force which had previously appeared so docile!

That just makes it even more alarming.

Indeed it does. Perhaps we should keep a closer watch on these odd little cephalopods...
