[Meanwhile, around the barrier...]

[There is an android attacking the barrier quite determinedly.

Charging...

BOOM!Since when did civilian encampments need all-purpose barriers of this caliber? This wasn't here on my way in... was it? Better get my sensors checked back at base just in case. Man, this day just keeps getting weirder and weirder ( Read more... )

Hi there! That's a good try, but you'd better get away before you turn into anything!

[stops firing for a second]

Ah, hello there. I take it you live in this encampment? If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the purpose of this barrier? I didn't think this area got attacked very much.

Wait, "turn into anything?" This barrier does more than just block intruders?

I do! It's to keep us here! And it depends on the month!

And the barrier gets mad about people attacking it so it turns them into things if they keep it up.

The barrier is used... to forbid leaving the premises? I wasn't under the impression that this was a prison encampment.

You mean, it uses a complex feedback system to discourage forced exit? I guess that would make sense... How exactly does it "turn people into things" though? I didn't think barriers were capable of high level matter manipulation. What's an example of its usual method of feedback?

Don't get too close, Mac. Someone's attacking the barrier.

Are things exploding? This is kind of nostalgic.

I apologize for any damage I'm causing to your landscape. This barrier your encampment uses is a lot more powerful than I expected.

Would it be possible to open up a small area of it? I'd rather not cause too much damage to your forest, if possible.

Okay, no, the barrier? Not so much with the openable. It's majorly, uh, barrier-y.

Where is the facility that manages this barrier?

Attacking the barrier is not advisable.

[Hmmm... there's something different about you]

Is it the type of barrier that absorbs and reflects the energy back at the one attacking it? It doesn't seem to have shown any signs of feedback just yet.

letshilbertluv December 3 2007, 06:20:14 UTC
The barrier reflects energy. It also produces varying affects, including but not limited to transformations.

time2get_srs December 3 2007, 06:26:09 UTC
So it uses an offensive feedback system. I guess I should be careful.

Are the transformations it produces permanent? This barrier must consume a lot of energy...

You shouldn't get too close to this area. I'm doing my best to minimize damage to the surrounding landscape, but civilians should still stay clear.

[...not bloo!]

Okay, but you should be careful too. You might get hurt if you keep trying like that.

Thanks, but don't worry about me. I'm actually used to encountering obstacles somewhat like this.
