((De-hiatus for all four of my characters! All four of them are wearing newspaper sailor hats with their names written in big, sparkly, pink writing and all sorts of arts-n-crafts decorations.

You don't have to use any glitter if you don't want to, of course, I know how boys can be. You could just use marker or crayon to write your name - if you want to, of course!

Paper hats are easier to decorate - plus, you don't need to knit or sew them! Besides, these are just for fun - you wouldn't really want to wear them at sea, they'd get wet and ruined!
