Can we have a canonball competition or something? But no letting the walruses play judge, they're a bunch of bias assholes!

Second question, why is the fucking water purple?

((OOC: General onsen post. Mingle or whatever. Celebrate lj's return. And yes, the water is indeed purple.))

Testing!

Testing what though!

The pH of the water, of course! [holds up strips] This looks fairly normal . . .

I'd say that's a relief, but around here . . .

pH means nothing? You're probably right!

Specifically, pH has no relation to the water's potential ability to turn us all into grapes or something, yes.

I'm still trying to determine whether the magic prevalent in camp is similar to our own, actually. It should be detectable by scientific means if it is, but I'm trying not to keep my hopes up, as useful as some sort of testing device would be . . .

I've sort of come to suspect that the magic here is "magic" in the truest sense of the word--something truly beyond rules or explanation. Imagining it as something that fits with magic as we understand it is--difficult.

It's also possible that this place has no native magic at all, but that the convergence of magical properties from so many different universes is having an effect on the environment. After all, it's unclear how much of what happens is deliberate on the part of the Director. I've heard it said that she has little real control.

Her presence certainly isn't very strongly felt most of the time. It's an interesting question, though I have to wonder what it would take to truly unravel it all.

You are no closer to locating her, ne? I really should do some information gathering at some point.

I'm a little frustrated to admit it, but not a bit. At this point, it seems all I can do is wait for her to show herself.

There is the question of what would happen to camp if you succeeded . . .

veryexactchange July 25 2007, 07:22:22 UTC
Now that you mention it, that question has been raised to me before, yes--mainly in the context of the possibility of camp ceasing to exist.
