Good to keep on toes. Vary training techniques. Improve strength, speed. Reflexes. Good to apply to football, but also good to develop self defense. Camp is dangerous.

Fundamentally. Effective fighting is typically a lot more precise than running into whoever is in front of you in the field.

Football looks like it's a lot more about the sheer ability to either stop or keep up momentum. Fighting has a different goal, and a different means.
