To those who had previously expressed interest, here are some of the basic results from the survey I conducted two months back.
Basic stats:
71* residents surveyed via haphazard/convenience sampling from a total population of ~400
46% arrived through their own means or means of others in their world
14% arrived while traveling to another camp
37% arrived unintentionally
3% arrived after their own death or destruction
62% have an area known as Louisiana in their home world
64% come from worlds where magic is either not used or used only in secret
* One sub-population was removed from the sample
Notable trends:
- Of those who arrived here via their own means: if they did not come from a world containing a Louisiana, then their world uses magic openly.
- None of those who came here after their death/destruction knew of a Louisiana before their arrival. Note: disproved
- It's approximately five times more likely that further arrivals from the same world will come from a time period concurrent or after the time that current residents left, rather than before.
- Less than 17% of the respondents have been the only arrival from their world.
And on another research note, Counselor Watari? Depending on how your own projects are progressing, I think we may need to revisit the subject of the lab's ventilation systems.
