So, how pathetic is it that I downloaded TV commericals to make it feel like Christmas? Yay, capitalism!

If any other Generation Y-era Earthlings from the US feel the overwhelming urge to watch Barney dress up as Santa to steal Fred's Fruity Pebbles, or "Peter" hitchhike home and wake up his family with Folgers coffee.

Right up there with A Charlie Brown Christmas as a sign that the holidays are here.

I remember that. I think I only ever saw it a couple times. TV that tries to teach morals is always fun.

Fast forwarding to the bit where Linus explains the true meaning of Christmas is a good way to teach people from worlds without Christmas what the holiday is, though. And to avoid having to do that whole talky-explainy thing yourself. Then you can turn to Rankin/Bass to teach about Santa Claus.
