[There is a little girl huddled in a giant night shirt, sitting on the roof of Boy's 19, silently watching the people below as they bustle back and forth, going about their daily lives.]

[tilts her head at]

How do you know my name?

I'm a doctor. I try to learn everyone's names, because if there's an emergency, I need to find their medical records as quickly as possible.

I feel really short yelling up to you from the ground, so would you mind if I climbed up?

I don't know anyone here, so I don't see how that's possible. Besides, I'm not going to fall.

I know. I'm staying here anyway; it's a nice view up here. If one pretends that large bodies of water are supposed to fluoresce green.

You'd better not tell the lake over there, then.

For a start, it has a tentacle monster living in it and I'd really prefer you not to meet Marcy under any circumstances. And secondly, I doubt it, or anything in camp, listens to what things are supposed to be or do.

How can a lake or camp listen?
