Camp, I know that you believe that you're very amusing, and I'm sure that you amuse yourself daily. That said, I really did not need a card 'celebrating' the fact that a year ago, I was almost burned at the stake.

It was before - on a planet named Jiangyin. I doubt it will ever happen again.

My world has stories of stake-burnings. It used to be how they punished people who insulted the Authority. But it en't so common anymore.

Was that why they did it to you?

No. They tied River to the stake because they thought she was a witch.

... Oh. I remember now, you talking about people thinking she was a witch after I met her the first time.... They burned witches in my world, too. 'Cause being a witch and insulting the Authority were the same, they said.

How did you stop them?
