Would anyone care for some tea? Iced tea is also available.

*and iced tea for you!*

Hello, Francescu. How have you been?

*sips*

Well enough, given the weekend's events. And yourself, Tatsumi?

Ah, this weekend was most disruptive for many people. Fortunately for me, neither I nor anyone whom I know especially well was affected. I did have the oddest dream last night... but that's of no importance.

The source of this weekend's troubles was that large pink cloud, correct?

That is fortunate indeed. And...yes, even in this place dreams are rarely of import, unless one is an oracle or seer.

It was.

Hm. Do you think that the cloud was created due to camp or that it might have come from an outside source?

It was an effect of the wild magic of this place; the pnakotic signature is unmistakeable.

Pnakotic signature?

Ah, my apologies; "pnakotic" is a term describing the fundamental nature of the worlds, and "pnakotic signature" refers to the structure and nature of a spell or enchantment. A sorcerer's work, or the work of a particular effect, can be identified by such a signature.

Ah, I see. Is the camp's magic like an individual entity? From what one camper has told me, it seems to be unusually responsive.

It is difficult to classify, but it behaves much as an individual, yes -- albeit one controlled primarily by malice and irony. Certainly its work is distinctive.

You seem to have had much experience with a wide variety of magic. Had you ever encountered anything like this?

Not on this scale, but long-term, self-directing enchantments are not unknown in my world, both those cast by sorcerers and those congealed from the power of the world itself.

I wonder if this was originated or activated by the Director or if she simply happened upon this self-created force, as it were.

It is an interesting question, certainly, though unless the Director herself makes an appearance I doubt we will find a definitive answer. Her control of the power is imperfect, however; she has been affected by it herself, as I recall.

Ah, yes, I recall being told that. The de-aging virus, correct? That seems to be a rather common camp disease.
