When you try and pull hermits out of their houses they hold on with their abdomens until they rip in half and then they die. Instead of, um. Leaving their houses.

Yes. They think they're safe if they stay inside, even if it kills them. They don't know how to go somewhere else until they outgrow the place where they are.

That's really true. But they have something else inside their heads. Because it's instinct instead of thinking. That's why sometimes you have to do logic instead of instinct because sometimes it's better and you don't die.
