So I had an awesome weekend. I went to Timmy's on Saturday again, and we went into Boston on Sunday for the
She Wants Revenge concert. Technically it was the
Nylon Magazine Music Tour. We got hopelessly lost in Boston on the way in, so we just parked and wandered around, taking the T to Government Center, where the train started smoking, so we got out of the station pretty quickly. I don't know what was wrong, but generally thick, white, billowing, stinky smoke isn't a good thing. After lunch in Quincy Market, we attempted to walk all the way to the club, but decided that our feet hurt too much already and took the T the rest of the way. The doors to the concert didn't open until 7, and we got to the club at about 5. Our feet hurt too much to wander around anymore, so we sat down in front of the club to wait. On the plus side, we were the first people in line. When the doors opened, we were the first people in, so we got up front, directly in front of the mic stand. It was great. So we stood around, I bought a shirt and SWR's new EP, Save Your Soul. Stood around more. The first band,
Switches, was pretty awesome. The second band,
The Virgins, was alright. Not amazing, but not bad. Their drummer reminds me of someone. An actor, I think. I can't place him. Then it was time for She Wants Revenge. They were awesome. The lighting was so dark for their set, so I couldn't get any good pictures with my phone, which was quite disappointing. But I was front row, so I was happy. I've never been in the front row at a concert. I could've reached out and touched them. Friggin' awesome.
I just realized that I completely skipped over the third band,
Be Your Own Pet. That should tell you something. The female lead singer spent have the time on stage spitting on the floor. It was gross. I don't care if you're female or male, spitting is something that should only be done outside, or in a trash can, if necessary. I wouldn't want to play on that stage after them. Honestly, it wasn't music. I wish I could find something I liked about them, but I honestly can't. I didn't enjoy it at all.
So yea. After the concert we took the T for a while, then walked the rest of the way back to the car. I found my way out of Boston with no trouble at all. That's right. In Boston, in an area of Boston I'd never before been to, with no idea where I was, I found my way out no problem. I don't get it. It was almost 1 o'clock in the morning, and I made it back no problem. I'm not even going to try to explain it.
So yea, it was a good time. : )
