Questions by wwpostergirl

1. When and why did you move back to Chicago and was it the right decision?
I moved back on August 8. I haven't decided if it was the right decision or not. I guess it depends on if I find a really great job because I chose to move home and look. If I just settle on a job just to have one, I think I will be disappointed. I think part of this moving home has been very bad for me, since I've been isolated from my friends and my boyfriend. But hindsight, 20/20 and all that.

2. How do you keep your relationship with Ayan going long-distance?
We talk online and on the phone multiple times every day, and try to see each other at least once a month. I think we are both committed to keeping it going because we love each other very much, and we know it's worth it. It is hard, though, and there are moments of frustration for both of us.

3. What is the most inspirational book you have read?
I think all good books I read inspire me, because I would certainly love to publish a book one day, so whenever I close the last page and think, Wow, I am inspired to write a book like that.

In terms of books that make me want to get up and run a marathon or do something else equally great, I can't think of one. My goal this year is to read more books, so I hope I find one that stirs me like that.

4. What was the last lie you told?
I think I told my mom this morning that I was going to get up and clean my room. That definitely has not happened. I still have time, though!

5. You have very strong political views. Do they echo those of your parents, or are in they in rebellion?
They definitely echo my parents' views, though I would say I am probably farther to the left than both of them. Neither of my parents grew up wealthy, but they worked and provided a good life for themselves and for me. My father, in fact, was able to go to college on the GI Bill, so I would say we are absolutely products of government aide and understand the importance of social programs. I think as you get older you move a little more toward the center, simply because values are shifting. (i.e. gay rights) with the generations.

The scary thing is, I tended to be a sponge when I was younger, meaning that if my parents believed it, I believed it. What if they had been Republicans?!? (shudder) Actually, my dad voted for Bush No. 1. But he is a strong liberal now, so I forgive him.
