Despite the stress of this work week ahead, this is one of those times that work seems like a respite from home.
The puppy came down with parvo. Parvovirus is one of those things like distemper that puppies are especially susceptible too, and if you don't catch it in time, they die. Well, we spent most of Thursday night at the emergency vet clinic, and the puppy had to be hospitalized for a few days, on fluids, etc. Just one thing after another. I almost lost her. But she's okay now, and hopefully there will be no residual effects from the virus.
Today, Mark's parents are baby-sitting her. She has a lot of fun playing with their Jack Russell Terrier, Extravaganza, who although a little ball of energy actually gets pretty tuckered out playing with the puppy.
And for those of you who wondered, she finally has a name. I went through thousands and thousands of options before we decided on Margaret Scout DeLeon. WE call her 'Scout' though. I chose Scout based on the little girl and main character from To Kill a Mockingbird, one of my favorite books of all time. Maybe I'll get a bird and name it Boo Radley. :-) Nah. Two dogs are enough. Poor Hunny. The whole thing is a major inconvenience for her.
