Well, on the heels of the next to last chapter of my BoB/DW crossover saga I now present to you another installment of - no, it doesn't ever die - the original Big Damn Modern Day AU of Doom. This one's starting to wind down, too. Only two chapters left after this part ( Read more... )

We need to work on God Save us Queens.

Oh yes, we must. Of course, it would also help if I first organized all the plot threads that I seem to have gotten tangled up in something that would make the Gordian knot weep with envy.

Indeed.

It's been tangled in an uber knot.

It's a Gordian knot mixed with a spider's web with onion layers. Or something. Either way, it's been eating all my time and notebook pages working out the timeline and exactly when all the important events happened and where.

Well, no gut-wrenching cliffhangers are in my benefit here, but I still cannot wait for more! And man! I wish I had a good Skip/Malark icon for this, because that was my absolute favorite passage, describing their very complicated relationship, followed by adorkble-ness.

Finally, Malarkey just sighed and smiled fondly at Muck. “Look at you,” he said. “You’re completely shit-faced right now.”

Muck’s brow furrowed for a moment before smoothing out again as he returned his friend’s smile and replied, “Yeah, I am.”

I will be waiting just as eagerly as Harry waits on his lady :3

I know, I know, I'm killing with the cliffhangers these days, aren't I? Sorry about that. But I'm glad you liked this bit! And yes, Muck and Malarkey...they've got such a complex relationship, I had to give them a moment...which they promptly took and turned into humor. Because that's just what happens with them.

Next part's being written at the moment, I swear! And wow, it's almost over. What an odd feeling.

Swooning, really? Wow, I feel so special now. I've never made anyone swoon before. *laugh*

I'm glad you've gotten a kick out of this madcap adventure. It's been nothing but fun to write.

You make me swoon every time you post! (That's why I am horrible at commenting... I usually just can't come up with anything to say. My brain imploded from the awesome)

The only thing lacking from this chapter? Winters and Nixon. Where's the unbelievably thick UST? I cannot live without it! Of course, the Muck/Malarkey totally makes up for it. ;D

Watch out for those brain implosions. The last thing we need is a black hole around these parts, what with the Large Hadron Collider possibly spelling the end of the world.

;)

Where's the unbelievably thick UST?
Consider this the amuse bouche before the heavy stuff arrives. The UST became so thick, in fact, that it had to become its own course.
But hey, there's always Muck/Malarkey.

I'm a little late to the BoB party but I'm playing catch up! Can't wait to read this story when I find the time :)

There's nothing wrong with being a little fashionably late, the BoB party is always fun and accepting.

Here's hoping you get a good laugh out of my cracktastic enterprise.

I've come to this story kind of late, but damn, I'm hooked, and looking forward to seeing all the different strands finally tie up. Loving the Harry-and-Buck banter, the Muck/Malarkey thing continues to be agonising (ah, deferred gratification, keeps the audience hanging on), and I'm just loving the little appearance from Spina.

I'm not so sure if the strands tie up as they weave themselves into a massive Gordian knot. But hopefully the conclusion will be satisfying for all.

Deferred gratification is also the tool of one who steeples fingers and cackles deviously, knowing full well that a sequel and a couple of spin-offs are waiting in the wings.

Oh lordy. You do have a way with the epics - I'm amazed you can keep them all straight in your head. Though on the plus side it's cheering to know that even if this story's finishing, the AU's not done with.

We have all sorts of things planned. I'm helping her with the enabling of the crack. :D
