This afternoon, at a little after 3pm[8/8/2006]. Our friend and kinsman Ian Abramovitch passed away with as much dignity and ease as a human being is allowed. He was surrounded by his family, friends and co-workers as he slipped away, taking ship into the West. He had suffered a heart attack on Friday morning, and never regained consciousness.
Jewish funeral services are pending, likely to be Thursday. More information will be posted on the msn board and also on the clan website.
A wake and memorial potluck will held on Sunday afternoon, at the home of Ian's sister and brother-in-law Gail and Sequoia Schroeder. Specific details (start time, address and directions) to follow in the next posting. Clan MacColin is hosting, if you are able to assist with this effort, please call the Jacobs' (after 7pm) with your possible contribution.
The family has requested a little breathing space, and have asked that people refrain from calling for about 24 hours. They have much to do in a short time.
