"Not enough time for all that I want for you..."
I really enjoy seeing the old INXS videos on STAR World. Before ROCKSTAR:INXS reminded me of their existence, my memories of INXS were relatively limited to less than 10 songs, namely, "Bitter Tears", "Mystify", "Not Enough Time", "New Sensation", "Don't Change", "Need You Tonight", "Beautiful Girl" and "Elegantly Wasted". It's funny cause I remember finding out about Hutchence's death while I was watching the "Elegantly Wasted" video. Anyway, that's eight, and all thanks to my sister and cousins I can actually recognize and sing along to the songs I've just enumerated. Not for the full run of the songs, but I can sing along.
Well, anyway, people have been calling on the fact that JD bears striking similarity to the late frontman of INXS Michael Hutchence. And I began to notice that Hutchence also bears some similarity with Marty "The Man" Casey. I think it's the eyes, the long hair and a little bit of the nose. And I also get astounded by how young the band used to look. Hehehe.
Now, if you were ONLY aware of INXS and some of their random hits (Like I was, apparently the eight songs I know are distributed pretty evenly in their discography) before you watched the reality show, you might actually think that they came out with about 3 or 4 cds when Michael Hutchence was still alive because when the people in the Bottom 3 have to sing songs from the INXS catalog, they make the contestants sing a lot of the same songs week after week. It's really odd. I mean, these contestants are also your fans and the people in the studio audience are probably the same way, so why not pick out different songs each time? They would know, right? I didn't even realize that they released at LEAST 10 full albums because of the slim Bottom 3 pickings.
I hope JD wins. Or maybe Susie. Just cause I think Mig and Marty are too cool. (Except for Mig's ballad).
