I decided to take a study break and try to run through some thoughts that I had while in class this morning. The argument of time travel has be going for as long as become could dream it as a possibility. I tend to fall into the camp that it can not be done. In order to time travel you would first need to find a way to reach the speed of light. I think that is the correct speed but i can not remember for certain. But in order to reach this speed you would have to become pure energy. My argument is that if you became pure energy you would loose who you are and would no longer be yourself. That is why you can't time travel. While in class this morning i think i was able to come up with another reason, although this would only hold for traveling back in time. In communications calculations, the term negative frequency is often used. Negative frequency in my thought would be one of the things needed to go back in time if it were possible. This is because when sending information a carrier frequency is chosen to send the information on. For negative frequency instead of sending it forward, you would be sending the information backward in time. Unfortunately this concept does not exist in the real world. Negative frequency is just a concept that engineers use to make life easier in calculations. Since negative frequencies do not exist that is another reason why you can not travel in time, at least not going back into time.
sorry for the random post, but i needed a study break and have been playing around with this idea all day
