Jeff, you once described integrity as consistancy of character....why shouldn't that apply to all pikes? We decide to promote a non-wet image, everyone basically agrees, but then we go and join the "I got trashed at pikes" facebook group.....fuckin' rediculous....and our president happens to be a member of. It's not just this instance too, there are several where all of our rules and standards have gone to shit. FUCK
This is for the record: Peter is by far the worst president that I think has ever from gamma pi....dennis wasn't the best either, but at least he upheld and promoted a better image....who wants to join a house that just gets wasted for no good reason??
This is what Pi Kappa Alpha means to me, and what I want to mold it into:
Men connected through a secret, respectful, and stronger bond, willing to do whatever it takes to further and benefit one another. As evident of the Northern Arizona pike that gave his live to push his lil' bro (pledge) out of the way of a train. We are to provide and aid the welfare of the community through philatropy, community service and involvement in our university. We have integrity, act accordingly at all times, like gentlemen. Not illustrated by shirts that say, "we don't need tractors to pull hoes", "get honor, stay on her, if you fall off, get right back on her," "we welcome back our alumni--and their daughters." Granted, these are comical, hell, I even owned the first one, but how do we distinguish ourselves as gentlemen if all they see are us degrading women left and right? Further, we are social beings and leaders, connected to other students, sororities, and important members of the community. We are athletes of all types. We have really dropped the ball on this one as of late. And above all else, we preserve our secrecy.
You know, when I look at us from a proverbial distance, shit man, we aren't the best at anything....in fact, we aren't even mediocre, we suck at everything from rush, participation, to alumni relations....
This needs to change......
