Work
Still working at OCHIN, a non-profit that configure/creates/sells EMR software to smaller organizations (primarily safety-net clinics).  The work continues to be interesting.  Not sure what else to say.  It's interesting watching the office get bigger and more organized; it's very different than when I started.

It's a little odd; I would have thought that moving from a strict software development job to a primarily analyst (technical non-coding) position would mean that my software development part of my brain would need some outside stimulation, but it turns out that for me, the analyst work I do feels more like a very-high level programming work more than I expected.  It's quite fun since it means I can deploy a lot of functionaltiy faster than I could with actual coding development.  It's really nice to have faster turnaround time on projects than I did at Epic.

Baby
I've started taking off one day a week so I can spend more (dedicated) time with G.  I think that's the right amount for me.  It's good to have some dedicated time. It does feel like it leaves a hole in my work schedule, which is somewhat annoying.

The weather is improving, and we get to go outside more, which is great.  She's so much more mobile and coordinated and stronger than she used to be.  I have pictures of her dead-lifting a 5-lb bag of carrots (~25% of her body weight).  It's really funny how she grunts when she lifts heavy things.

G is really starting to communicate (non-verbally); she's pulling on her high chair, pointing at her coat, tugging on the stroller.  She's still mostly just saying "mama", "dada", and "da" (da=thing of interest).  She's very particular and independent.

Sleep is pretty good these days.  Most common is one wakeup in the middle of the night requiring intervention (usually chaning a diaper and nursing).  She's waking up more regularly at 6am (or later), which is a real boon to her parent's sleep.

Play
Mary and I have been hosting a fair number of board game group sessions, which is nice.  We really are in the renaissance of board games.  Some recent favorites: hanabi and pandemic (both cooperative and good for 2 players).

I've been trying to get more exercise.  I've been lifting weights weekly with a co-worker, but I need to get out and do some more cardio-oriented exercise; maybe stroller jogging? Maybe running/elliptical at work?  I should also try to work on my runner's knee.  Also trying to get out to volleyball more often, though my last two attempts were stymied by the drop-in class filling up before I was able to get in.

I haven't been very crafty lately.  I want to make a wall-mounted knife rack for kitchen knives, but I've been in design-paralysis.  I asked Mary for help moving along on it for my birthday.
