Volleyball, Projects
Inspired by Mary, I decided to sign up for volleyball also. I decided on the power league which is on Tuesday. I had a great time last night playing Volleyball for ... 3 hours. I feel sore today, but I'm guessing that tomorrow it will be much worse.
As far as projects go, we are kind of between projects right now. We still have some polish on the couch, but it is in sittable condition. The cabinet refinishing is done and looks great in glossy. The table is also in an acceptable state; somehow the dowling jig didn't quite line thing up right, so one side of the table is a tad uneven. We can move the holes, but we haven't gotten around to making the 8? precise holes necessary to get it done right. In the meantime, the table is a grand improvement.
I've also been working on designing a subwoofer. I am currently planning on buying a Shiva-X and a amplifier with adjustable subsonic filter/boost and placing it in a sealed box that I make. I strongly considered a ported subwoofer (which is generally better for home theater applications), but a ported subwoofer would be more complicated to build (I don't have a table saw), would take up more room, and tend to be more finicky regarding getting them to sound right. Designing speakers is also of interest, but I think that I should wait and see on how I like constructing the cabinet
