Spidey

We went to see Spiderman 3 today at an Imax. I haven't been to an Imax before outside of a Disney World type theater. What did I learn:
-Sit way in the back. As far as you can.
-Movie theaters should avoid having local 'celebrities' film intros to the "Imax Experience" which repeatedly tout the clarity and detail of Imax process which are themselves filmed on 35 mm film! It somewhat negates their message, when their faces are pixellated.
-Imax magnifies every imperfection. Toby Maguire's skin is not very good, for example. Would Johnny Depp and Halle Berry look so wonderful in Imax size?
-No previews! Boo!

Other notes:
I would give the movie a B to a B+. Good show.
-The best comic relief scenes were when J Jonah Jameson's secretary nearly buzzed him into a heart attack and when Peter does his version of 'cool' -- nerd cool, that is.
-The comic relief is definitely needed, since this is a much darker film and everyone walked out of the theater quietly. The ending was a little abrupt.
-Venom's teeth are disgusting! He needs to lay off the sugar. And caffeine. Take it down a notch and keep away from those nail files you're using on your teeth.
-Kirsten Dunst looks better as a red head.
-The movie theater's 'convenience' fee of $1 extra per ticket to buy them online was totally negated by the fact that you could not print out your tickets, but still had to wait on line to pick them up. Not really a convenience.
-Why does Mary Jane dress like a Puritan school teacher? She's a young actress in NYC -- shouldn't she be wearing black turtlenecks and leggings?
-I didn't know Toby Maguire had it in him to perform the dance number. The guy is so opaque, generally watching him is like being in a sensory deprivation chamber, but he did play that vengeful scene quite well.
-I still wish Jake Gyllenhall had gotten the role of Peter. Yeah, I'll keep whining about that.

In other news, I got a new haircut. It's Eva Longoria's hair from a magazine cover.
