Ok, as most of you know I'm with the Florida Army National Guard. Last night I was trained and approved to be a RA (Recruiting Assistant)... representing the ARNG on my civilian time, I can take most questions you ask of me... but before you ask any questions, let me give you a review of what the ARNG (army national guard) is about... Actually, before I say anything else, let me tell you why I chose to join..
I signed for 6x2 which is 6 yrs active, 2 yrs inactive... once you sign you're REALLY signing for 8 years.. so now matter what, even if you signed for 2 yrs you're still theirs for the other 6 years until that 8 yr period is up. I signed for 6 yrs because I get ALL the EDUCATION benefits. I'm for education so of course it would make sense.
Want To Pay Off Or Start Up Your Education?
The Guard recognizes the importance of education in our society and helps its soldiers better themselves through higher learning and advanced training. We offer living stipends for full time students, educational loan repayment and, in conjunction with certain states, 100% free tuition.
100% federal tuition assistance
The Army National Guard funds up to 100% of tuition costs and fees, not to exceed $250 per semester hour and will be limited to $4500 per person per fiscal year. Tuition Assistance may be used in addition to the Montgomery G.I. Bill, Army National Guard G.I. Bill Kicker, Active Duty Montgomery G.I. Bill and Pell Grants.
Prior service, welcome... no matter what branch.
Now...
What is the Guard?
The Army National Guard is an elite group of warriors who dedicate a portion of their time to serving their nation. Each state has its own National Guard as required by the constitution; in fact, the National Guard is the only branch of the military whose existence is actually required by the constitution.
Guard members have a long and noble history of serving at home and abroad to ensure the safety and freedom of their fellow citizens. They have combated natural disasters, supported regular Army troops, and when called upon, borne arms against their nation’s enemies.
If you want more information on EVERYTHING about the guard, check out www.1800GOGUARD.com
Or, consult me and I will assist you further... and if all goes well, then you will be my new soldier!
Welcome to the ARNG! :)
In the Guard you become a Soldier. What does it mean to be a Soldier? It’s being a part of noble tradition of service extending back almost 400 years. It means you become a member of the best trained, best equipped, and most respected military force in history. It means you will make a difference.
The Soldier's Creed:
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States and
live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
