When Cameron had woken up that morning, Marybeth had been gone (and so was his t-shirt). "Is everything okay?" Veronica asked in greeting. Yeah, she was used to Cameron calling at early o'clock, but now that there was a child in the picture, she was allowed to worry.

"I'm sorry," Veronica apologized immediately. "It's just... you know... I figured my kid might have my penchant for escaping."

She sighed. "I'm kind of sad I didn't get to meet her."
