Room 223 - Morning

When Cameron had woken up that morning, Marybeth had been gone (and so was his t-shirt). He'd flailed and had gone looking until he realised that the dorms were scarily devoid of any children and when he listened to the radio, it finally registered that Marybeth was really gone again

"Is everything okay?" Veronica asked in greeting. Yeah, she was used to Cameron calling at early o'clock, but now that there was a child in the picture, she was allowed to worry.

[cameronmitchell]

"Uh. Yeah. I guess," Cameron shrugged. "Marybeth's gone."

[marsheadtilt]

"What do you mean GONE!" Veronica demanded. "How could you let her out of your sight!"

[cameronmitchell]

"I didn't lose her!" Cameron protested.

[marsheadtilt]

"You said she was gone!" Veronica said. Then she paused.

"Oh. You mean... whatever brought her there reversed itself?"

[cameronmitchell]

"I'm not that irresponsible," he sulked. "Radio said they left. So yeah... You probably don't need to come down this weekend."

[marsheadtilt]

"I'm sorry," Veronica apologized immediately. "It's just... you know... I figured my kid might have my penchant for escaping."

She sighed. "I'm kind of sad I didn't get to meet her."

[cameronmitchell]

"She had," Cameron mumbled, not quite meaning for Veronica to understand that.

"You would have loved her. I think she inherited most of your genes," he said.

[marsheadtilt]

"You must have had your hands full then," Veronica said, smirking a little."

[cameronmitchell]

"Yes. We definitely need to talk about what you should and shouldn't teach our kids," he told her, not really thinking about exactly what he was saying.

[marsheadtilt]

She raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?"

[cameronmitchell]

"She's not getting a taser when she goes to school," he said firstly. "Shin kicking is not allowed. Neither is picking locks as we'll never get to keep her in one place. And she shouldn't call people jerks."

[marsheadtilt]

"Why are you blaming all those things on me?" Veronica asked innocently, fairly bemused by this conversation.

[cameronmitchell]

"Like you don't know," he huffed.

[marsheadtilt]

"I don't think it's fair for you to blame me for things that I either haven't done yet or some alternate version of me has done," she pointed out.

[cameronmitchell]

"I'm just telling you now so we can avoid having to chase after our daughter!"
