Room 223 - Monday Afternoon

Apr 16, 2007 22:26

Cameron had decided that having kids was both tiring and really bad for one's reputation. So he was going to try to keep Marybeth busy in his room for a little while. He had very little hope that it would last very long.

"Daddy! I finished your picture," Marybeth said, bouncing over to him and holding out a small piece of paper. "Now you can have one in your wallet here and at work!"

Cameron smiled. "Thanks, sweetie. It's lovely," he said, studying the picture to try to figure out what everything was. "I especially like this part," he waved vaguely.

Marybeth grinned. "I knew you'd like that part best! That's the cockpit!"

"Ooooooooo! That's pretty neat," he smiled. "And you're flying with me?"

"Yep!" she said. "Do you think I should draw another picture for Mommy?"

"I think she'd love that," he smiled. "You're really good."

"Thanks, Daddy! Uncle Angel taught me!" She went back to her coloring.

"Well that makes sense. He is way better at drawing than I am," Cameron replied and watched her colour. "Is there anything you aren't great at?"

"Nope," Marybeth said. "You always say I'm a perfect angel."

The shin-kicking and hand-biting might contradict that statement a little.

"Uh huh," he nodded. "Can you touch your nose with your tongue?"

Marybeth tilted her head. "I never tried," she said.

Which of course meant that she had to.

"It's really really tricky," he said solemnly.

Yep, she wasn't going to give up until she managed to do it. She was probably making some very silly faces.

Cameron laughed and took a couple of pictures for Veronica just in case. He wondered how long it would take for her to give up considering who her parents were.

Given that she inherited a stubborn streak from both of them? Probably a very long time.

On the upside? It meant she couldn't say anything to embarrass her daddy for now.

Snickering, Cameron reached over and lightly tickled the back of her neck to distract her.
