Outside the dorms, all afternoon

As it finally had stopped raining, Cameron was going to make the most of this day. He'd quickly gone down to the mainland to a garage this morning and hired all the equipment he might need. Now he was sitting on the grass, beside his swoopbike and cans of paint and paint remover and airbrush equipment while reading a book on how to do this. Maybe ( Read more... )

"Painting my swoopbike," Cameron said. "Well, it's actually pretty much finished except for some touches here and there."

"If this thing does what I think it does? I don't think anyone is going to call you on a little lightening bolt," Isabel pointed out with a grin. "Subtle would be the operative word."

He grinned. "This thing is a swoopbike and can fly faster than any motorcycle we have. Maybe a sleek one?"

"How about here?" he said, motioning to what appeared to be the tank.

"Looks like a good spot," Isabel agreed. "Give me a minute." She took a minute to picture what she wanted to do in her head, then ran her hand down the side of the tank, leaving a sleek, silver lightening bolt behind. "What do you think?"

"That you have the coolest alien-fu ever," he said as he leaned down to investigate the bolt. "Think you can do an exact copy on the other side?"

"It is occasionally useful," Isabel grinned. She stepped to the front of the bike and tried to gauge the appropriate spot for the second lightening bolt. Once she had an idea she repeated the design on the opposite side? "Look good?"
