Not that she wasn't aware that was what she was doing, but she also knew how explosions worked, and injuries were common. Once she'd spotted Cameron, she gave him a quick nod before turning to the Marine in Charge. "I hear you guys need a couple of mechanics."

"Explain to me what happened, please?" She'd get the full story again, and speak to the on board engineers while she was at it, but it never hurt to get as many impressions as possible. "Was anyone injured?"

Cameron was looking back into the cargohold, but he stayed on his post at the controls. Even if he felt eager to see Sam, but then he'd seen her a few days ago so it was silly to be eager. Right? Right. Mind with the controls, which included closing the cargo door so he was allowed to look back.

They'd probably have to gerryrig something until they could get back to Earth. She already started running through whether there was anything on the Al'kesh that she could utilize.
Scanning the ship as she followed the marine, she grinned when she saw Cameron at his post and felt something between her shoulders start to relax.

They were climbing up higher, the trees beneath had become a sea of green and the sky above was turning a deeper kind of blue as here and there stars appeared. Cameron liked this part best of all, even if he missed the swooping feeling you got in a fighter plane.

Considering as bad as Sam thought involved a total core meltdown and being blown up by the Goa'uld instead of dying a horribly slow death of radiation poisoning, that was probably good. "She still driving like a land barge?"
They'd been working on that, but a large spaceship needed a little heft to it, so you remembered you weren't flying a fighter jet, so there was only so far she wanted to tweak it.
She dug into her pack again and started rummaging for her tools.
