[Sometime during the night (just late enough for the sky to have darkened completely), anyone walking outside can find Cameron standing ramrod-straight in the center of town. It is useful to know. You can measure a star's radial velocity and distance in parsecs and the Cartesian coordinates. Stellar motion can be used to calculate what the sky will look like for hundreds of years in the future or the past.
