Whenever I add friends to my livejournal, I feel the need to make a post, to show my new e-friends that my journal is not this static affectation of the events of a few weeks of the past year. So, Sofie, Laura, Meghan(#2), this one's for you.
I don't really want to make a "goings-on in my life" update, because those are boring and no-one likes them, but I do feel like the livejournal community is malinformed of my current status. Luckily, there's not much to tell. Classes are. Life is. Stephen, Eric, and I have signed the lease on our place to live for the next year. In fact, the biggest event in my life over the last month or so is Meg's moving to Seattle. It hit me pretty hard last week, and I didn't go to class, mostly, but I'm good now. It was a good run, lots of fun, healthy, good memories. Certainly a learning experience.
My ancient philosophy class is one on ancient physics, and I think it's fantastic to see how many of the people in the class like to attack the ancient greek philosophers with modern science, and when asked to back up the basic assumptions of modern science (the intelligibility of motion, the origins of the cosmos, the possibility of intellect) they sputter and stammer. Our likely story is just that: likely. It's really an excellent class and I've really been enjoying some of the eye-opening.
I wish I had more to say.
But, you know, I don't. For now.
