Our trip to Los Angeles was absolutely awesome -- I've only been back in MN for less than 24 hours, and I want to go back already. Yeah, it's overpopulated and dirty and weird, but I fell in love with the rest of it.

First stop: chris Farley's star, of course!

I took about 458 pictures of it.

We meet up with Kyle's friend Juan, and he took us around to the hot spots of Hollywood. Here's the Chinese theater!

outside the Chinese Theater.

Kodak Theater! of course I think of American Idol immediately.. or, you know, the Oscars.

GOULET!

After sightseeing and a trip to In and Out burger, we meet back up with Juan and his friends for his birthday celebration in Santa Monica.

cheer up, birthday boy!

and THEN.. my first star-sighting! it's CRABMAN from My Name is Earl!! I was way too shy and sober to ask for a picture, so I had to act all paparazzi.

he looked very serious, and he wasn't drinking. boring, Crabman.

Our second day we head to Venice Beach.. to see the beauty and the freaks.

on the boardwalk.

"Will work for Marijuana."

this excited me because I painted the exact same picture back in high school.

i want this house.

Rodeo Drive! my own Pretty Woman moment. if only I had a few thousand $$$ to drop.

just your average home in Beverly Hills.

and THEN.. Katie and Aaron arrive from their 7 hour drive from San Jose! We decide to test out our directions to the Price is Right, so we don't get lost the next day. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the CBS studios at roughly 7pm, there was already a line of 40+ people waiting for the Price is Right. We hauled ass back to the hotel, grabbed blankets, pillows, stopped at a nearby Kmart for chairs (and snacks, and a cot, and an inflatable bed), and set up camp on a curb in Los Angeles. Only 17 hours until we'd see the Price is Right. (yes, we're crazy).

our curbside home!

Aaron and Katie! this was before it got really cold.

we were 80something in line. i think there were, like, 300 people behind us in line. we rock. this was taken about 5am. only one hour until they opened the gates!!

sadly, they did not allow cameras inside the studio, so i have no pictures of our exciting adventure on the CBS grounds. let's just say the whole experience was unbelievable. i have never been so excited for anything in my entire life! we sat dead center, about 4 rows back from contestants row.. and Bob Barker is super tall! we didn't get to "COME ON DOWN" but it was still so very worth the insane wait. the set is SUPER TINY.. and i totally bawled when Bob Barker emerged through the doors. I've had the theme song in my head ever since. I want to go back IMMEDIATELY!!! oh, and our episode airs APRIL 3rd, so watch for us!!

still delirious after the show.. wearing our sacred name tags!!

a little too much excitement, mixed with lack-of-sleep.

around 7pm we realized we hadn't eaten anything all day long, so we searched for a restaurant in Santa Monica.. but we stopped for pictures on the pier. last night in L.A... :(

and here's our last day in LA.. we drove around aimlessly, and eventually found Malibu.

see? Malibu!

the end.
and seriously, if anyone wants to go a whirlwind trip with me back to the Price is Right, let me know. we wouldn't even need a hotel room -- we'll be sleeping in line outside CBS! and yes, I'm completely serious. it was THAT much fun.
