From my somewhat limited astronomy knowledge I've come up with an idea about Earth and its relationship with the three other planets inside the asteroid belt: the planets tell us about the story of Earth.
Closest to the sun we have Mercury, which is a fairly small planet compared to Earth and is like Earth when it was being born as a planet. Then we have Venus, a volcanic planet with a large amount of greenhouse gases, violent storms and a thick ozone layer which acts as Earth's violent creation days or possibly what our planet may turn into as global warming takes a turn for the worst. Next we have Earth and we already know what is happening to it from exposure by the media. Finally, we have Mars which is what I believe is Earth in its final stages in which all of our water sources dries up and our planet is just a remainder of the life that was once on it.
I do believe Mars had life on it at some point whether it be Marvin the Martian or micro-organisms that survived in the waters of Mars eons ago. I also haven't taken in account about our moon, but I guess it's fine since every year the moon drifts further away from Earth (that article is found on National Geographic I believe, do correct me if I'm wrong though).
So how much truth regarding my story of the planets hold? Minimal, but it's something to think about since science has only told us so much about our universe
