I took your prompt "Looking after children--one of the characters looking after/interacting with children, and the other one being turned into a puddle of mush by the sight" and turned it into an excuse for a happy romp in the snow. It takes place sometime in the happy-ever-after canon AU, where Arthur is a king and Merlin his beloved advisor slash warlock (and where most of the seasons 2 and 3 didn't happen).
